James Paul Thibodaux known by most in the family as “Jimmy” is a Thibodaux native. He graduated from E.D. White High School in 1978. He is one of the seven children of Flo and F.E. Thibodaux, Grandson to Alban Caillouet. Godfather to Travis Thibodaux, Foye Lirette, Jr, Alicia Boudreaux Thibodaux and Annabelle Arceneaux.
Jimmy had a long and distinguished career in the oil industry as a diesel mechanic. He retired in 2021 after 42 years in the industry. Now able to have a more regular schedule he brought his little girl, Angel, home. A Boston Terrier, that he loves to spoil.
He is not only incredibly involved with his family but with his community. He is an active member of the Knights of Columbus, in the very chapter the L.P. Caillouet founded in Thibodaux in 1906. Before being elected to the Board of Directors, Jimmy volunteered regularly at the Caillouet Building and assisted with family events. He also volunteers with the Thibodaux Fire Department and their famous TFD Fireman’s Fair. Jimmy volunteers at the Monastery in Lafayette that Taunte Lisse founded in 1936 with their men’s Carmelite Guild. Jimmy attends St. Genevieve’s Catholic Church and is a member in the ACTs Retreat held by Christ Redeemer Catholic Church.
